DJ Flexx and WPGC present “Polo & Chuck: The Movie.” Come out to The Howard Theatre on April 21 at 6 p.m. to be part of the
video shoot with other go-go fans. Only the first 500 people will be able to get in, so make sure to get there early.
Not only that, but every day, DJ Flexx is
giving away a chance to have a cameo appearance in the video. This could be your big break.
Washington, D.C. has been the home of go-go music since the 60s when it was created by the godfather of go-go, Chuck Brown. Today, it has evolved into a sub-genre called “bounce beat,” a more aggressive version of go-go that heavily involves timbales created by the Bounce Beat King, Polo of TCB.
DJ Flexx,
IamDonJuan and record producer JS aka The Best crafted a one-of-a-kind song that has never been done before. Combining the classic sound of go-go with the aggression of the bounce beat, they named the track “Polo & Chuck,” to commemorate the founding fathers. Both new and
veterans of the DMV go-go movement can enjoy both aspects of go-go music with this remembrance.
“Polo & Chuck” is available on iTunes now. Get the song
