Fresh from his SXSW performance this year, Killa Cal of Rare Essence teams up with WPGC’s own Tony Redz and Lil Roddy for the eclectic new single “The Go-Go Show“ produced by JS aka The Best. The chorus of the track interpolates one of Hip Hop’s greatest songs “The Show” by Doug E. Fresh. The video directed by Jerome Smith, captures shots of the streets of DC, The U.S. Capitol building and the Martin Luther King Jr. memorial. Lil Roddy who has be featured in the WPGC DMV Cypher is seen in the video representing the youth of this generation of Washington D.C. Fans of Go-Go music will recognize Tony Redz paying homage and respect to Go-Go bands such as Pure Elegance and Backyard Band throughout the song. The Go-Go Show truly embodies the past, present and future of the evolving culture of Go-Go. This track is the first of many that will be featured on an upcoming album by JS aka The Best. The 23 year old producer/composer has already worked with B.o.B., Twista, Samsung, People Magazine, Playstation, and many more.
